Our range includes different types of compasses.
There are bearing and steering compasses:
Bearing compasses can be found in the REFLECTA/1, REFLECTA/2 and REFLECTA/3 compass binnacles as well as in the bearing binnacles 180 and 160. As the name suggests, these compasses can be used to take side bearings. You can always recognise bearing compasses by the brass scale ring. The bearing compass also has a centre piece for the azimuth device.
Steering compasses can be found in the REFLECTA/4 and REFLECTA/5 compass binnacle as well as in overhead and desk steering compasses. Due to the use inside the bridge or the low height on deck, there is no 360° bearing option. For this reason, no azimuth device is required for side bearings. Steering compasses can be recognised by the black cover ring and the missing centre piece.
We also distinguish between TYPE/11, TYPE/12 and TYPE/21 compasses, which differ as follows.
| Model | Card diameter | Card print |
| TYPE/11 | 180mm | North under North |
| TYPE/12 | 180mm | South under North |
| TYPE/21 | 160mm | North under North |
The TYPE/12 compass, with its card print south under north, is used in the REFLECTA/2. The reason for this is the longer reflection tube.
